Thunderbird
If you're not already familiar with Thunderbird, we bet you know about its sibling: it's part of the same project that created the Firefox web browser, and Thunderbird uses Firefox to render content.
But where Firefox is all about websites, Thunderbird is all about email and newsgroups. It's overkill for the occasional Gmail or Outlook.com user, but it's a really useful tool for anybody whose email inbox feels like a never-ending avalanche.
Why you need it
Not everybody is happy with plain old webmail, especially if they're dealing with huge numbers of incoming messages or want to be able to access their email archive when they can't get an internet connection.
Thunderbird is designed for those more demanding users, and it's packed with features including rules-based mail filtering, a tabbed interface, reminders if you forget to attach a file you mention in a mail, support for all kinds of plugins to add new features and both encryption and digital signatures.
It works across multiple accounts and also enables you to pull content from RSS feeds, which are published by stacks of websites and blogs. It may look a little dated but it's an exceptionally flexible and powerful email organiser.

- Cons: They removed the Windows key on this keyboard and replaced it with a "home key" which launches Internet Explorer. The calendar button locks your computer. HP gives you the run around on this product - business says it is a consumer product and vice versa. There is absolutely no support articles or drives for this product. I strongly recommend against purchasing this keyboard.

You get what the picture shows. - Cons: It is your typical mouse and keyboard that you used in typing class in fifth grade.
- Other Thoughts: I realize that I bought it and it wasn't broken so I shouldn't complain about it, but seriously if you care the slightest bit about aesthetics look at all the other combos that are on sale and only 10-15 dollars more expensive. I already bought replacements for these.

- Pros: This was my first modern mechanical keyboard and I liked it.
The price was very good too. - Cons: The "e" key is now unreliable. I'm pretty sure that I haven't typed the 20 million keystrokes that the specifications promise.
The 1-year warranty is up. That term seems a bit short for a mechanical keyboard.
I phoned support but they say that the "clone ALPS" keys are without colour and there are no replacement parts: not from Rosewell and not from the unspecified switch OEM. - Other Thoughts: This keyboard has died sooner than any keyboard that I've ever used as my main keyboard (over a 35 year period).

- Pros: - It can be washed
- The way the keys are designed mitigates gunk and hair from getting burrowed beneath the keys. - Cons: - Keys are not "the best" but if you enjoy hard keys this is definitely the keyboard for you. I prefer softer keys. I feel I need to hit these keys harder. I'll keep an eye out for a washable keyboard with better keys
- Other Thoughts: Despite the feel of the keys not being ideal I am still happy with this purchase. I hate dirty keyboards, they disgust me. Being able to easily wash this. I spilled coffee on this, washed it, dried with a towell and allowed to air dry briefly. Got back to work. Manufacturer should make the keys better and I would have given this 5 stars.

- Pros: It's a basic keyboard with a few extra buttons for volume control, opening up convenient programs (like calculator), and pausing media players. The backlit keys and large print are a nice touch.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this for my mother for Christmas to replace her other keyboard with faltering volume control buttons. Unintentionally, she thought it was a joke that I bought this keyboard because the letters were big to make it easier for her eyesight and age. She hadn't seen anything like it before (even I haven't). I've only used stock keyboards. At the time, this was the only reasonably priced keyboard with the features I was looking for that also had decent reviews. I wasn't looking for something fancy. Just something with volume control. This option worked the best.

- Pros: The combo came with a Keyboard and a Mouse, as described. Haha Can't ask for more. The keys have great response and just the right amount of resistance to make it comfortable. The mouse is excellent and has ultra fast response both optically and with the buttons. Very smooth and comfortable to use. I have used my nephew's $200 gaming keyboard, which is insanely comfortable to use, but essentially has the exact same functions as this one.
If you "don't need" special controls to change your keyboard/case LED color, CPU fan speed or change your music playlist with an on-board LCD display then this Keyboard/Mouse combo is for you. The best price you will get for such a good combo. - Cons: There are no cons to this bundle.

- Pros: -Keys have depth to them ~ you have to actually press them in to hit the key. If you don't like squishy, flat keyboards (like myself) then this will have a welcome feel to you.
-There's a slight grooving in the keys themselves. Could be a tad deeper but you can still somewhat feel what each key is as you hit it.
-Handles up to 4 buttons pressed simultaneously (as far as I can tell). - Cons: -The backspace and forward-slash buttons are only single-button sized (unlike most keyboards today where they're a little bigger) and the enter button is huge. It carries over an older feel, but in this case makes using it a little tougher.
-Larger buttons like enter & spacebar aren't the most durable and are prone to reduced sensitivity if handled in a more forceful manner.
-The Ctrl buttons are also a tad small. I don't have a problem with it, but my fingers are somewhat slim so it may be an issue for you if your fingers are on the thick side. - Other Thoughts: All in all this is an average keyboard for the price. I couldn't find any keyboards with good depth in my area, so it's what I wanted (even if some of the button sizes are questionable) but it's definitely not of a superior quality (not that you should have expected that for the price).

- Pros: I bought this keyboard mouse combo in 2012. I have since replaced the mouse because I wanted a better one, but I still use the keyboard. I am an avid PC gamer and this thing has lasted me 4 years without a single issue. None of the key lettering has even started to wear off. I am convinced this will last me another 4 years. The mouse lasted 2 years, in case you were wondering.
- Cons: I just wish the keys were quieter. This is the reason I will replace it soon.
- Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a budget mouse keyboard combo, get this without ever looking back.

- Pros: Works well, built well, and seems like it will last quite some time. Not that I'll be testing the spill proof protection intentionally or anything. Kensington has been around quite a long time too, and it comes with a five year warranty. It works fine with any Unix or Linux based system as well, not real sure why that is never mentioned in part specifications. Guess there just isn't enough of us out there.
- Cons: I sure haven't found anything, but if you want more than a basic keyboard and mouse, you may be disappointed with this set.
- Other Thoughts: I was using wireless sets for a decade or so, my pup had pups and they kept chewing the cords up. Got tired of the miscommunication the wireless sets would get after awhile, so since my dogs are older and not chewers now, I went back to a wired keyboard and mouse. Not only saves with batteries, I use a computer a lot, and just like in networks, wires are your friend.

- Pros: This is a great keyboard due to it's finely spaced keys and soft touch access. It has a beautiful modern thin profile and reminds one of an Apple product keyboard. It very portable and has a lot of wireless range. Better than 20 feet. The board itself is very thin and light weight yet sturdy due to the type of back that's on it.
- Cons: It turns out that if you get a keyboard with a bad rechargeable button cell in it, if over the 30 days neither Newegg or Logitech can replace the cell. I'm just approaching the 3 month mark and cell is dead so you are looking at a eleven to fifteen dollar replacement cost. Logitech's claim is that once a full solar charge to the battery button cell has been made it should last three months. There is a support issue here. Too bad because I am all for green solar moves toward the future. They should indicate when the rechargeable cell was tested before boxing the product. Imagine how many buyers will have to buy new cells or seek warranty replacement due to this minor flaw.
- Other Thoughts: Update 11/9/2016: Logitech sent a warranty replacement board. Odd procedure for acquiring it though. In any case, the old board is still here and the new replacement one restored my faith in Logitech but it does appear to be of the refurbished kind in that it does not have the pristine state of flatness of the original keyboard but battery stays charged and is going strong after over five years of use. Apparently one of the solar panels was not doing it's job causing the button cell to slowly discharge.. I will give another egg for effort.

No lag in performance

- Other Thoughts: I've used logitech for many years now after trying several others- both higher end and discount- and you can't beat them for dependability. I've used some more expensive keyboards with many more "extra keys" that I ended up never usingso I am back now to this more basic keyboard that does have a few "extras" but they are not overwhelming to the appearance and function. This one sets at the correct angle without putting up those extension feet at the top that makes it too awkward. The mouse is comfortable and responds instantly, some others I have used seem to have a delay.

- Pros: With the software that you have to download from the Logitech website, you really have a sense of versatility. After almost 7 years in use it is still as responsive as ever.
- Cons: You can't use the function buttons without the software (why have them there in the first place if you can't use them am i right).

- Pros: The round keys are great and the keystroke is short and responsive. I am a draftsman and use this keyboard daily, one thing I do like is the small area it takes up in my work space. I have not had any issues connecting with my tablet, phone and primarily used with my pc.

- Other Thoughts: I'm not sure how well this keyboard would work for a gaming keyboard. Ive tried several keyboards trying to find the right fit but all were really the same thing, some wired, wireless, backlit, mechanical keys and so on. - Pros: Simple basic wired keyboard and mouse set. One of the least expensive sets on the market, yet it simply works as expected. The keyboard has a nice touch. Don't have to press too hard, but not so soft that you tend to "accidently" hit unwanted keystrokes either. The mouse doesn't have any extra bells and whistles, so this is a perfect set for a new build. Never had any problems with this set. I have used this set several times in the dozen computers I have built in the last year. I like this set the best of all that I have tried.

- Other Thoughts: I needed a PS/2 keyboard to work on a server that doesn't have native USB support. It serves that function quite well. I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to others.

- Pros: Easy access preprogrammed keys for volume, home, calculator, etc.
Back lite keys, which are REALLY nice! - Cons: Lays VERY flat even with "legs" extended.
Keys are VERY touchy, if you brush one with a finger that key is showing up. I guess I don't type nearly as cleanly as I thought, it's taken me several months to get used to this, still happens on occasion. - Other Thoughts: The back lite keys are whats really special on this keyboard. I work at night, and really enjoy not needing lights on to see my keyboard. Between the light from the monitor and this keyboard I don't normally need additional lighting. It has multiple back light color choices, or off, I use blue, the keys are well lite but still pleasing to the eyes.
